The blind person must be presented with the same information content as his sighted peers in a normal printed book and as far as possible in the same consecutive form and in an equivalent lay-out. This is essential for blind people working together with sighted people and for students in an integrated educational situation. Otherwise it risks excluding a mutual communication. For these reasons the inkprinted book must be revised before it is transcribed into braille. In the case of textbooks this revision is extremely costly and often time-consuming.
